FLOW, IVAC...

Doc, FLOW and IVAC are my latest picks in the stock market derby. Perhaps you could add them to your Readers' Picks Portfolio.

Here's a brief summary of both:

FLOW-yet another unloved small cap stock. Flow is the leading company in the water cutting tools market. I think they hold about 40% of the market which is growing at about 20% per year. The big kicker in the stock is their Fresher Under Pressure processing. This is a cold process pasteurization method. Currently, the Tropicana has a test project running with Flow for the production of OJ. Flow just bought out their major competitor, ABB Systems, in this area. If the process takes off, the size of the company could easily double. Selling at ~12 fiscal 2000 earnings (the company has a May, I believe, fiscal year) th stock looks like a great value. You can hear a presentation by the company by going to VCall and clicking on the recent Red Chip Review conference.

IVAC-makes sputtering equipment used in the manufacture of disk drives. When the drive makers start to upgrade their equipment, IVAC will be a beneficiary. Meanwhile, the company sells for about its cash level. They have excellent management and the Lindner fund, known for its conservative picks, has a position in the company.
