Daniel, I agree with most of what you say, never could figure why anyone would want to be a CLEC...unless they had such a unique niche in some remote corner of the market place that guaranteed their survival. Your description of a CLEC having political usefulness is very pertinent with the current market, they do have an effect in bringing about some of the changes lately.

This part of your post is on clear to me…

Is this some thing that Paul Allen's Vulcan Ventures doesn't have the advantage of? Is it really exclusive or just the only complaint of that type which has been ruled on in this way?

In regards to your comment…

It's my thinking this will happen…whether it's by choice or force via deregulation allowing others to freely enter the arena.
