off way off topic for now !!

WESTLAKE VILLAGE -- Franklin Telecom is moving up in the world by switching from the lowly OTC Bulletin Board to the American Stock Exchange.
The telecommunications and Internet services company announced Tuesday that it has met the higher capital standards and scrutiny of the national exchange. Franklin, which has been trading on the OTC as FTEL, will start trading at 8:30 a.m. Thursday under the symbol FCM on the Amex.

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Frank Peters has been asked to ring the opening bell at the exchange that day.

"It brings us to a whole new level," said Tom Russell, chief financial officer of Franklin. "We'll get broader exposure to the financial markets because it's on a national exchange. (Our stock) will get more stability."

Franklin could not have joined Nasdaq because it did not meet its $4 stock price requirement, but Wall Street cheered the announcement anyhow with Franklin's stock rising 34 cents, or 12 percent, to $3.25.

The American Stock Exchange, which wants to attract cutting-edge tech firms, was particularly attracted to Franklin's Internet business, Russell said.
