A single preannounced, premium priced, production run of updated but still vintage Ampex analogue open reel decks would sell out before the first recorder left the line. The capitalizations of high end audio companies are too small to make returning to the business on a full time basis worthwhile - but I think resurrecting the line .... and the Name... one more time ... would garner priceless publicity ....would one wonderful way of saying that AMPEX IS BACK!
