Just picked up tons of CPQ April 35 and 40 calls @ $5/16 and $1 1/8, expecting 500% profit from these bets.

The broker called me 2 days before Bankers Trust merger and CPQ's positive 1Q earnings also sold me 3000 shares of WCAP last Friday.

El, Kumar knows but CPQ IR doesn't? Does that compute?

Dear El: Well, from an accounting perspective the merchandise MUST leave the loading dock to be included in this qtr sales. Dont know how fast a turnaround they have from first receiving the order until shipping but I doubt its much under 2 weeks. So I share your concern. BUT remember qtrs come and go, what is important to me at least is the LONG TERM nature of the beast. This COULD merely be a good buying opportunity. JDN

El,
There has been considerable emphasis on the qtr. being "back-end loaded." There have also been statements and inferences by EP and EM that any pc softness will be more than offset by high-end apparatus and service. From your post, the last 2 weeks are critical. My guess would be that the qtr. weighs heavy on a few high profile deals that they do not have finalized yet, but are working very hard to ship & bill before the end of the month. Since, for some reason, there is doubt as to whether this will, in fact, occur within the alloted time frame, they can not make any statements, plus or minus, of finality at this time.

Again, JMHO.

BTW, I almost forgot, thanks for making the call and sharing the info.
