maybe briefing.com is passe',
maybe DW is a tough dude,
and you must knock him,
if you can,
maybe he is just smarter than
everyone else,
maybe he just has better information,
than everyone else,
is that possible....

if you will recall the outrage on this board when the usa/lcos deal was announced. dw was accused of betraying a whole generation of gen x investors and urged to do something about it. a few posters here determined that actually the lcos deal wasn't so bad after all, but they were drowned in a sea of criticism. dw has responded to the demands of the vocal shareholders and it has cost him and cmgi credibility. while his loyalty to the perceived wishes of his shareholders is commendable, that loyalty may have blinded him to better business judgment. imho

Pete,

Well put. Credibility aside, I don't think we're done with the NO SPLIT comment, and then a split 4 days later.

If people sold their stock based on that public disclosure in the CC, they might have cause to ask for an SEC review of those comments and the action.

Nothing may come of the review, but they could ask and it would be evaluated, and maybe investigated. This is a very highly regulated industry, and the SEC is very interested in these types of things.
