Ramsey, I believe you got it right, someone IS cooking the books and some has supported the Nikkei to go into the end of the year well above the critical 14,000. One of my reason for timing the "spring Relapse" I expect in our market is the resurgence of the Asian flu once the books in Japan are closed. Some smart money managers will try and get out of the doors before the crowd (witness last night's tumble which is been artfully reversed tonight) causing the beginning of the Asian markets malaise to appear before the drop dead date. But, they have enough cushion so that there is no worry of breaching 14,000 by fools day.
