Donald I am of the same opinion. Will start writing call option early next week. Mostly in cash now except some out of the money calls who will expire tomorrow.

the tick was -533 at the close

While I agree that the internals weren't too great and many (read most) stocks didn't cooperate. I think at least Index wise, there is a 99% chance that this market will close over 10K tomorrow for the reasons I wrote in my post to Haim. If you wanted to dump and take your profits due to an ill looking market, what better way to do so than to close the DOW over a historic mark right before the weekend so it will undoubtably be played on every news program, radio talk show and cover the tabloids and papers for 3 days straight.

This will infuse more money into the market so that distribution can take place un-noticed. I am not a bull by any means here but I think we could go up through the beginning of next week unless Asia continues to melt down in a bigger way or some other earth shattering event takes place. Just our closing today so close I bet is enough to have the J6Ps calling their orders in for tomorrow so they can brag they were 100% in when the milestone was broken.

I think we may rally into around Wednesday-Thursday next week from the looks of my TRIN and A/D charts then start to feel the hangover as earnings warnings start hitting full force. This should carry us down until mid to late April when the earnings come through on lowered expectations.

Of course, this is more FA than TA with the exception of the TRIN and A/D. My mid-term fork on the SPX says we stop here but shorter term forks don't hold forever. <g> Remember those tight Bollinger bands I mentioned last night, an explosive move was due and so far it looks to be up.
Good Luck,

Lee

Donald, I know your system is based on a trading range and should remind you that we have a technical breakout of the trading range.
