I'd rather have a post today than a spike.
Spikes are sharp and hard. Posts are softer
and and sometimes rounder: easier entry
and exit points.

Is that what's called an oxy-moron?

Seems a post is composed of a natural resource
that goes by the name "wood" and a spike is
a composite material mfg out of numerous
earth-made materials.
