make sure that the CPU fan is hooked up to the CPUFAN connector on the M/B (next to the DIMM slots).

I'll have to open up the case and take another look. Its been awhile since as you indicated if my temps are ok, which they are, this hasn't been a high priority problem.

A BIOS upgrade might be necessary, but I would doubt it unless you have a very early release.

I got the board around Xmas. I need to look into BIOS upgrades..if I need one or not that is..

some fans (especially cheap ones) will not report RPM speed to the MB even if it asks for it.

This is a boxed retail 300a with the attached fan. If that is any indication of quality, I don't know.

But I'll crack the case and poke around to see if things are connected as you have indicated. Thanks for the BIOS link, too.
