It is not an easy thing to take a company public to a big board (although ETPI is on the right track). Steele and Etpi would both benefit from a merger. ETPI gets the assets to qualify for a big board and Steele "sells" his company to the public for more than it is probably worth in a private acquisition. One almost always makes more money selling a company than operating it.

Well Kelly, if etpi does complete these acquisitions i think there probably would be new people elected to the etpi board . Wouldnt that loosen doug butchers grip on the decision making process of the company ? I think that would be a plus if it happens,as it could bring new blood and new ideas and possibly more expertise into the company.
