Today needed to happen last week to save my March puts. But things are looking up now--or down. or something.
Once we were in Jamaica and the hotel was having a frog jumping contest. Some of the frogs did what they were supposed to, and some just sat there, looking like stuffed kermits. That's what my stocks do. Surely when you spend all that money there's some kind of warranty that they're alive? Is it legal to sell deceased stock? I'm thinking of returning them and demanding my money back. SIx hours a day I sit here and stare at these stocks-- 8:30-- 9 1/4 , 9:30-9 1/4, 10:30- 9 1/4, noon- 9 1/ wait wait-did it move???--no- 1/4... Meanwhile I can hear the screaming and cheering as the market soars past 10000. People are getting rich. People are threatening suicide. But at least they are ALIVE!!
I'm just sitting there-- 2:00-9 1/4. Market closes. I add the closing price to the running average of the past three years-it doesn't take long. 9 1/4.
I bet on the wrong frogs. It's not easy being green.
