Some data can be trusted,

Would you please point me to it then??

All I see is statistical analysis based on formula and assumptions that a certain number of lines of code, function point, or embedded systems will have date dependencies. Of of that number the probability is XX to XXX % that any particular one of them will fail. Statistics can predict a potential future event, but they never substitute for hard data detailing problems that have been discovered.

I know people who are working on this issue at some pretty high levels (we're talking people who oftentimes deal with Koskinen's office directly). Even they can't seem to get a handle on the firm data that will provide them a clear and concise assessment of what is going to work and what won't.

Basically Ken, our gov't is flying by the seat of its pants (IMO), doing what it can, and hoping that they have done enough that major disruptions won't occur domestically. But rather than creating a panic before sufficient data is available of ACTUAL problems, let's get people prepared mentally for either eventuality, disaster or dud, and how we're going to function then.

Regards,

Ron
