Are you honestly going to tell me you've never had hard boiled pickled eggs out of a huge jar, or pigs feet, or raw hamburger balls (popular before the e-coli days)? I guess we all have our own deprivations in life. Seriously, bars are different west of the Mississippi and become 'more different' the further westward one goes.

PS "The Half Note" in Missoula....was that by the Park Hotel? Must have missed that one.

K,
Real places of my wondering youth. Places where one could get down in the mud, the blood, and the beer and physically communicate with all you heart and soul deep feelings on any given topic. Also places where one could associate with the finer members of our rural society. You never knew who you might bump into. The local ranch owner looking for his mad son or some temporary help. The local military base commander checking out the "off limits" bar and hoping one of his kids wasn't there. The local sheriff looking for information and a little something to eat. The greater social structure visits, but never stays long. The regular crowd discourages outsiders in general. After all this is their place to meet, drink, mate, and have fun in general.
