HOLY GRAIL: THE END USER.......

>>Dr. Schmidt said that Novell's only goal now is to get Novell on the end-user's mind so I think we'll see some interesting things from this company in terms of marketing. In fact, he pointed to what MSFT has done with JUST marketing!>>

An unbundled NDS that's embedded within enterprises connected to the Internet means that we are on the threshold of individual control over devices, files, terminals, apps, etc. EVERYWHERE - WORLDWIDE.....

Schmidt has it right. IT'S THE INDIVIDUAL STUPID!!

Isn't that the same as "it's the internet stupid"? After all, individuals - NOT CORPORATIONS - drive the net......rock the net.

Imagine the power behind a novell.com that gets inside the consciousness of THE INDIVIDUAL - for the freedom technology can bring to access, factor, target, display, report, organize, share, distribute, buy, sell, clear, reflect, expand and extend the INDIVIDUAL'S power and influence......

Going forward, as we get used to flexing our muscles in this digital world, we will find that progress will be driven more by information and ideas - AND less by politics and corporate influence.

The traditional Old Business Model world world has been turned totally upside down.

I really believe Schmidt will make good on his promise.

novell.com will evolve into a very creative - perhaps even wacky -
powerhouse of innovation and collaborative power that's driven by THE INDIVIDUAL......

It's time to really get this "brainshare" spread all around and "out there".

Open up Eric and share the wealth. novell.com - by virtue of the unbundling of NDS - has a staggering opportunity ahead of it to let "the individual" really drive the evolution and growth of this Internet Wave 3 - the era of individual.

While E-Commerce - Wave 2 - continues to take off corporations everywhere will need tools to reach out and touch individuals.

Companies that gift additional power, control and flexibility to individuals will GROW. This is what NDS apps CAN DO NOW!!!

Companies that think the game is over - ie. "they'll have to come to me for product, etc. " - will be bypassed by companies that embrace the true internet model in this e-commerce phase - open up, share, gift power and flexibility to the individual - will grow.

The energy and power that NDS tools will bring to app developers will be staggering.

For the first time app developers can create value-added products and services that are NOT platform dependent.

NDS will make Java what is was meant to be for NDS is THE operating system that will - on a cross platform basis - organize all of what has to point, extract, and support what is necessary to make apps shine for the individual.

Windows are made be opened. Gate's had a good gig going. His only problem was the subterfuge underlying his strategy. He patted all these "individuals" - app developers from within and without - on the back knowing full well that at the appropriate time he would weave this web which brought the full power of these ideas into HIS domain - eg. pick up the current Time magazine and you will find HIS 12 RULES - all the while cutting off the innovation going forward - for who wants to compete against Microsoft. THE INDIVIDUAL is why Gate's is worth $50-60-70+ billion.

What a travesty. What a house of cards. For Gates and Balmer have always been out FOR THEMSELVES. Microsoft gets the individual through co-option and quid pro quos. There is a hidden conditinal motive about how they approach the individual.

Despite HIS 12 Rules - all interesting and valid - Gates isn't the person that's comes to mind to understand the humble, delicate position necessary to truly open up to the power of the net - THE INDIVIDUAL....... If the individual's power is finally unleashed in this digital world then the power of Microsoft will have been checkmated for all to see. Gates is trying all he can to cap the net for Windows, Windows CE and whatever and wherever it takes to block, limit, contain, obstruct this wave of freedom that can wash onto our individual digital shores.

Thank God for NDS and the new power behind novell.com - the individual.

GO!!
