"More foof for thought" Winspear is (probably) a company directed and managed by clever, entrepeneurs pursuing the best way to make a lot of money for themselves and their shareholders. The "new" Aber is (probably) a company directed and managed by layered committees trying to do the best they can.

>The cowboy tactics exhibited by this company were more than validated
>when they choose to withhold "material news " from the market place
>for over 6 months.

Are you referring to the CF results that were supposedly held up by the strike? Was this untrue?

Cheers,

Kim

George
I disagree with you.
Yes winspear is highly promotional back in 1996 and 1997 and you can thank Bob Bishop for that and his personal gain as well. For one thing
It was Aber's greed and not Winspear's.Aber was trying to buy out Antler for there greed(so get your facts Straight before you Quote Winspear was the Greedy one)Yes it is true that Winspear jumped under
Aber's nose and bought out Antler so they had controlling interest.Hats off to Winspear for that move.Thats what started the Cat & dog Fight today.Aber's election not to contriute to 1998 program was the cause of the Cat & dog fight nothing else.Aber said there commitment was Greenland which was BS to all shareholders with over a 100mil in the bank.I guess they couldn't afford it.Now Rumours of a buyout.(Go think about that now)Aber in deep trouble in 1999 again and most likly will lose more percentage points once again. If there mine was that easy to undertake the plant would have been started already.
There are big enviromental problems that will take along time to sort out.Why all of a sudden does RTZ start exploring other propertys and do nothing with Aber's.All of a sudden Buyout Rumours because there is a problem with the Main River System up there.

PS Put all pieces together and it doesn't look good.

PS2 I think ABER is the one that should explain to shareholders what the scoop really is.Speaking of promotion it seems to me Aber was at 26dollar stock once and now a little over 9 bucks.

It is obvious over the last few years having following them very closely their corporate mentality is Greed.
I hope that's true George!
That would put Winspear into very good company. The very same thing has been said many times about Microsoft, Dell, Seagram's, Barrick and and and, as well as their respective founders or controlling shareholders.
Funny thing is that you don't hear this comment from the minority shareholders of these companies but from those who are looking from the outside in.
It's easy to confuse greed with smarts, drive and determination.
I for one love "greedy" insiders just as long as they take me along for the ride.
Sour grapes George?

Best
kidl

George, in your opinion would it be valid to state that while Winspear has the geology, the management leaves much to be desired? I have to wonder where management has been getting their advice during the past year. I do like the split into two companies but there does not seem to be a willingness to share info by release. There is considerable info coming in a disorganized manner.

Winspear and Aber have been feuding for some time. I cannot get a clear picture of the reason for this. I do know that Aber has been attempting to keep Winspear from sharing info regarding Snap Lake. I do not know why.

I think we are in the position of arguing about a situation that is in flux so some are viewing the scene as it was a few days ago and others are viewing things from a few weeks ago.

I wonder if Winspear is engaged in a misinformation campaign to keep everyone guessing. Could it not be that they are doiong everythin in their power to regain as much of Snap as they can?
