I suppose intel has "confused the press" is about the best spin that could be put on it from the anti-Intel point of view.<g> It certainly could not be a sign of a reporter writing an article without knowing what he was writing about!

Have you noticed the irony of AMD positioning their top end chip with on board L2 cache against Intel's PIII w/out on board cache, but then come next fall we will see AMD position the K7 w/out on board cache against Coppermine/Cascades which will have it? Funny how these things sometime work out.

Once again your bias blinds you. Every time Intel makes such a demo they carefully explain that it is a technology demonstration and not a product announcement. They make it known if active cooling was employed. Can you say the same for AMD?
