I believe some people think there is a direct correlation between the competing companies stock price and their products. This is looking at a very complex picture in too simplistic a fashion. EMC clearly dominates the market place. A great management with a "we don't take no for an answer" sales force has put EMC on top. But is it the better product? Well, before the days of FC, an independent study by the former Coopers & Lybrand said no. MTIC's Gladiator (I don't recall the specific model) beat EMC in the testing. Do you doubt the credibility of the report? You shouldn't. Once EMC got wind of it, I sure management was on the horn with the C&L partners asking a lot of tough questions. It just so happens that C&L is the auditing firm for EMC. Ouch. Do I wish I had kept my meager shares in EMC? You bet. But I wouldn't make a blind investment in it now. Looks very rich in price to me at current levels. The same blind eye some of us cast at MTIC is now being cast at EMC. Good luck to all.
