Hi Mark, I went over the Coopers and Lybrand study with the thread about 4 or 5 posts back.

But I will never forget the EMC tech rep I met in the Vancouver Airport a couple of years ago, either. Please allow me to tell the story one more time.

He was wearing an EMC2 polo shirt and huffing and puffing his way along with nothing but handcarry of some kind. When I pointed out the logo on his shirt for him he was pleasently surprised that I knew his company. Basically, he was in a hurry, but I was in a position to officially slow him up long enough for a short but very informative debriefing.

Regarding this particular trip, he was sent up from the LA office to do one installation and one tweak-job. But it was his rush to get out of there and onto the next job that I was impressed with. We talked about EMC's struggle in the early days. He knew a lot of the guys from those times and told all the stories about no money for overtime, etc.

I've never met anyone from MTI, but I simply can't imagine any of those idiots having the love and zeal for what his does that this guy had. What they are about is "hussle". I can't imagine needing storage for my company and calling MTI, all the while knowing EMC has guys like this running their asses off to get sh*t done.
