It is perfectly legal for networks to own content aggregators over cable and the Internet. Disney/ABC owns ESPN. NBC owns CNBC, etc.

There is nothing I know stopping them from offering streaming content from those websites.

Good questions, Pru.

1) NBC a dark horse here. Owns a piece of ITVU already. Don't think competitive network content is an issue, but currency is. Struggling to see how GE/NBC would put a deal together, except maybe by using CNET as the acquiring vehicle. CNET about the same market cap as BCST and NBC only owns a small piece. Would Jack Welch dilute GE shareholders? Dunno.

2) See no antitrust/FCC snags for GE/NBC. NBC dominates nothing in this realm. Net an open system, not a regulated monopoly.
