I had mentioned an article in Business week on valuation. Message 8426906
Would really be interested to hear what a valuation maven thinks of it.
TheStreet.com's reasoning is absolutely logical. I don't know how much expectation for the future IPOs, JWEB etc. may have factored in pleasantly when ROWE was reasonably received. (Or, there is what happened to IPAY some time after its IPO). WCAP had a nasty selloff. Shorts are still short, expecting it to go down further. Heck, what do I know?
BTW I checked to see how many employees CMGI has. 1,024. You gotta cheer a company not doing too badly with 3 :-)

I sure wish you'd go long again so you could start promoting the other way again.

This is very misleading piece about WCAP and I wrote to thestreet
about it. I think by now all on this board know there is so much
more to the story here than ROWE. JUNO is what push this company
over the top. By the way some are starting to wonder about alter-
native to AOL. Look no further than JUNO from free e-mail (by the
way MSFT paid around 500 million to a company for their e-mail
accounts), 6 million users, to JUNO Gold to full ISP services.
They literally hold the hands of those needing it every step of
the way. And I thought the market is forward looking otherwise
how can you explain the valuation for just about any so-called
internet(ATHM anyone?) stock, even MSFT, or any techs as they continue to put out sickly looking earnings reports. Compare book-value, ROE, ROA for WCAP and any similar company(including CMGI which I hold in my
long term account) and I think we will see that WCAP looks like a
winner even at these prices. They love to pick on small companies
and they hate the fact that they weren't there first.
like.
