TO ALL: . . Regarding picks. . . The last few weeks on Silicon Investor, there have been wars between various factions, rumors and news articles/editorials about some of the SI thread leaders, rumored SEC investigations, personal attacks and so forth. For the past several months, I have been working hard on analyzing market and applying new strategies that can make the most of the current and expected near and long-term trends. It has resulted in lots of picks, numerous painstakingly crafted SSL baskets, new long-term ports, precision timing plays based on more than just news, many new SAMs, event-driven swings, undervalued gem sleepers, etc. etc. But the current feeling on SI is that anything and everything posted on these boards "can and will" be used against us. . .eventually. Everyone knows how I have tried to keep things clean here. And have witnessed my outspokeness against those that feel the need to dominate by instilling fear and intimidation. . . and I don't just mean the SI posters, but the 'messengers of doom' and all the way to the regulators themselves. The problem is that I believe with the current situation as it is, with regard to openly discussing our strategies, the private long investor/trader now has a distinct DISadvantage. Subsequently, no matter how great the pick, it would get wasted by posting here. We just can't go stealth enough on these public boards. This explains why I have been holding back. I would rather we made NO gains than make losses. I don't know how many thread leaders ACTUALLY care about those that depend on their wisdom. But I have received a huge amount of letters of gratitude. And I am proud to have been of assistance in ANYONE making a buck off the market. There ARE ways to regain the advantage. I have spent countless hours developing new strategies that are aggressive, yet relatively safe. I have selected stocks that fit "modular" profiles to be used in a totally new way. I have tested numerous trading strategies over long and near-term periods and in various market trends. And I have spent much energy attempting to see the "big picture" of where the private investor stands, with regard to the street. . .and how we can profit best from what we know. But anyone that would see the amount of work and time that I have invested, would think I was crazy to give these ideas away on these public boards. And it is disturbing to think that our enthusiasm, confidence and projections can be twisted and distorted by opponents. Going private is now inevitable. I will make sure that what will be created is fair to all levels of investors. There are many advantages, which greatly outweigh the disadvantages at this time. I will post details as I get them, and I hope that all will see this as a positive move. We will use the SI board for our convenience in discussing activities, but will keep strategies under wraps. More on it later. I would love to hear some feedback on this subject. Thanks, Rande Is
