I've had to deal with the IRS regarding my parents' returns after my father died. I've lost track of how many times that they've lost returns or appeals. I don't know of any malicious use of the IRS other than those alleged in the press. Personally, I would prefer the elimination of tax deductibility of contributions to tax exempts.

My wife and I use the short form, because we would rather overpay a bit then be vulnerable to an audit.
