I agree that if ATHM loses Comcast we might have a pretty big disaster on our hands. I think this is probably the first time @home and Road Runner are coming head to head in competition for a major contract.

I'm out of my league here, and looking for opinions from anyone. What are the pro's & cons for Comcast picking one vs the other? Is the AT&T connection a positive or negative? How many @home subscribers does Comcast have? How many RR subscribers does UMG have?
What are the relative sizes of the financial commitments? How strong are the exclusivity contracts in the face of a merger? etc...

Eric

Aside from the regulatory mess, RR/ATHM merger is beneficial to all parties involved. You are right, the problem is with FCC. FCC may not like to see it happen. I would say Comcast is to bet on the wrong camp if they part with ATHM and side with Road Runner. Marketing and brand name wise, Road Runner doesn't have a big clout. Combining forces is always better than going it alone. Road Runner and Comcast is seeing that clearly.

We will see a lot things to happen this year. This is the beginning.
