BS, there are exceptions of course. I would argue that government guarantees whether express or implied encourage greater risk taking than would otherwise be the case. Look at the derivatives exposure of the money center banks when the banks get into trouble again they have every reason to believe that AG will bail them out again. mike

Either way you can make the case that we should shrink the government.
That way the government can't screw things up on its own due to politics instead of economics, and business can't buy the government and screw things up.
