Gustave,

I would almost agree that using Albania as a base of operations to arm KLA fighters might be a more appropriate path. My only problem, and I'm sure NATO has "game-played" is as well, is that Albania would then find itself far more militarized than it is currently and thus would become a stronger presence in the region. This would not sit well with the Greeks, who have a historical animosity with Albanians.

It also would militarized the KLA to such an extent that we would likely find ourselves unable to control them or their greater goal of joining Kosovo with Albania. I'm frankly at an impasse in my mind as to what course to take with Serbia, except for isolation and containment in hopes that Milosevec can be removed from power and someone more amenable to autonomy rising to power.

Historically in US history, there are similar precedents to what has occurred in Kosovo. One only has to look at how the US obtained the state of Texas and California through dislocation of the Mexican population with former US citizens. And this activity was openly supported by elements in the US gov't. It led to the Mexica-American war, independence for Texas and then gradual annexation into the US.

The serbs should vy for time, make peace, and then provide incentives for their people to move back to Kosovo in order to bring the population back into balance between Serbs and Albanians. They'd then have the full justification to engage their police and military in the region against KLA forces in order to protect their Serbian population.

But this route would be more complex for Serbia to enact. Besides they now see the ability to force ethnic Albanians back into their homeland of Albania. They may use this opportunity, should NATO efforts fail to halt ground operations, to re-establish a more prominent Serbian presence.

And frankly, while I don't like the methods or brutality being used by Serbs, I think we could all understand how they might should we find in our country an effort to find one of our states attempting to secede and assimilate into a neighboring country, solely because our lax immigration policies permitted a large number of foreign nationals to gain demographic dominance over that state's US citizens.

I'm not fond of Milosevec's methods, but I'm not going to condemn the sentiments of Serbs who feel that the Albanians have been stealthily invading their country for 40 years and now wish to annex their territory to the mother country (which is the end goal for the KLA).

Regards,

Ron

You have to be the most brain-washed individual I've ever had the displeasure to read about on the internet.
NATO was set up as a DEFENCE alliance, not as a tool for the US of A to use in their own personal agenda of world dominance.

One only has to read what you've written to interpret PURE CRAP!
