Glenn,

>> I believe the story is over. Pumping won't help anymore. I even believe Mary Meeks and Co will pretend AMZn does not exist.

It sure seems like it today, doesn't it !
But an hour ago, when the dow turned positive and went up to +20, amzn went from 115 to 120 in five minutes. And I think it will do it again, if the general market turns up. If the story was really over, meaning amzn was being valued on its earnings, it would have gone much much lower.

Glenn, if you review the Media Metrix data, the website visits to AMZN in the second month of Q1 99 were 35% higher than the website visits in the second month of Q4 98. And February has 6.7% fewer days than November. You can find this data by looking at my bio to find the links for my recent postings.

I believe that Dell represents the tip of the iceberg in deals which we'll be seeing from AMZN. I have a lot of confidence that KPCB can create relationships to leverage AMZN's exponentially growing customer base. I have no nonpublic knowledge here--this is just a personal belief.

FWIW, I had an early investment in AMZN which grew over 20x to become worth seven figures. I sold most of it in a panic in January at 125, but have bought some back so that I now have 60% of my original investment still with AMZN. I just don't want so much of my portfolio in any one company. I am betting a lot that AMZN will set a new high in 1999.

Best Regards,
Tom D
