Hi Steve, U = unlicensed. 5.75GHz band can be used with Part 15.247 rules of spread spectrum, which allows 1MHz frequency hopping source to deliver 10Mbps -> the WaveSpan 5800. 5.75GHz can also be used with direct sequence spreading or U-NII rules -> the WaveSpan Stratum 100. New management at WaveSpan is moving product out. Also see Glenayre Western Multiplex Tsunami (100Mbps in 5.75 band) and perhaps the RadioLAN 100Mbps pre-announced Feb 8th. petere
