Zeev,

I would have guessed the action in VECO today is what you live for. Big volume, panic selling?, dragonfly Doji....all good things from a technical standpoint. I still agree that the next few months could get nasty, but I think today was a good buying oppurtunity when it was down -7 plus. I had a GTC go thru at 36 and bought more at 34. Since I am in your camp on the April drop, I will most likely sell some of my holding in the near future. I think (I forget the name) was right on the Mohan board. The DOW takes a big drop to lure in the bears, we climb back up end of month, begining of next to 'shake them out', and then wamo. This would coorespond with your 401K influx. At any rate, VECO from 34 to 38 in 1/2 day "ain't too shabby"

Jumped in RMBS today at 62 (I know you wouldn't agree), but did sell the April 60's for $7. Those premiums are just too tasty.

PS> what is "window dressing"???

Mark

IBM/EMC deal may not actually hurt VECO. It looks like EMC wants to keep steep competition between IBM and SEG.

EMC in supply, tech deal with IBM

"Futhermore, EMC said it had been already been on track to buy about $3 billion worth of IBM parts -- formalizing the plan won't necessarily give IBM any more business," Beerman said [spokesperson from IBM].
Currently, EMC buys about half of its disk drives from IBM and the rest from Seagate Technology Inc. It doesn't plan to change the ratio. The disk drives are used in EMC's high-end storage systems, which sell for as much as $4 million.
"Our relationship with Seagate is as strong as ever," Fredrickson said [EMC spokesperson]. "We like to have a balance in our supply base."

...

The article goes on to talk about the fact that IBM insisted that EMC "would still likely buy additional computer parts, such as microprocessors and customized chips ..."

It also talks about the fierce competition between the two companies ... "At one point, EMC had internal posters made showing Chief Executive Michael Ruettgers holding up a fist with blue ink on his knuckles -- representing IBM, also known as Big Blue."
