>>BCE plans to use the cash infusion from Ameritech to invest in high-growth businesses such as electronic commerce, satellite services, systems integration ...

above taken from the news release, looks like they have their priorities correct; notice 'electronic commerce' is first. It seems some will be used for stock buyback the rest for acquisitions, how much will BCE Emergis get from the 5Billion for this purpose. Now that this deal is over Emergis can pursue their acquisition. Must be a done deal by now , they said back in Jan they were in discussions.
Wasnt sure before what sector they would persue; EDI or e-bill, or?
might be a clue in prior post from Mtl Bus Mag. They say they are Number #5 and want to be #3. A wild guess may be Harbinger, especially if more funds are available, I think they had about 75million in the bank for acquisitions, but now? #3 is SE, Harbinger is#4. If you take out #4 you can give the #3 position a run for it. But I'm not sure if #4 is really worth buying, they seem to be having difficulties. Any oppinions on this candidate????
