Note to Diana--re "If I were OPEC, I would want other producers to believe that I might increase production at any time.This would discourage investment in e&p thereby protecting my members' market share"---Diana, I think you may have hit the nail on the head here. Rodriguez' comments may have let the cat out of the bag as to what OPEC's real plan is--to put a cap on new drilling etc by keeping the price at say 15-17 nymex rather than letting it get near 20. OPEC intends to cheat to keep the price from causing a boom. It's not really cheating in their eyes since they would have planned for it under the table all along.....So, where does this leave the drillers Big?
