>>Name a plausible scenario where we stop Hitler in the thirties without totally alienating Europe, esp. USSR<<

Destroy Hitler's abilities from 1934 onwards to produce military equipment and raise an army. As the bulk of German manufacturing was located in the Ruhr region (the country's industrial heartland) it was entirely possible to put an end to the charade that was going on.

You must remember that if Britain and France had been relatively united at the outset, it would have so easy to march across the Rhine into Germany and take out the whole bloody shot before he had a chance to invade Austria in 1938 or Czechoslovakia the same year. The German military was ill-equipped and unprepared to handle a foreign invasion during this period and I am sure even Hitler sat back and had good laugh at the allies' stupidity.
