I thought one of you electrical engineers dissected some W-CDMA specs. and concluded it is not even a realistic proposal yet.

W-CDMA is, by my guess, about two years behind CDMA-2000, but that hasn't prevented most of the European vendors from signing up for it anyway. My concern is that unless Ericsson is strongly incentivised(sp?) to sell CDMA-2000, they will just continue to preferentially push W-CDMA which probably has better royalty positions for them and will allow them to get their act together for handsets etc. .
