If you don't mind me butting in again, FWIW I just took the "once" to mean "at some point," rather than "once and only once." Maybe Christian can clear up that for us, though.

I stand corrected. He did mean "once and only once."
He may or may not be right (see DBCC, but cf. MALL), but you really can't fault his logic at this stage.
