The Serb dictator isn't interested in loans, business, or prosperity. He wants to use terror and hatred to increase his political power and the Russians are backing him. He is another Sadaam or another Hitler and once again the rest of the world demonstrates it hasn't learned the lessons of the 20th century. One lesson is that there is no substitute for victory. Bombing campaigns have very limited use and will have no more effect on getting rid of Milosovic (sp?) than it had getting rid of Hitler and Mussolini. The only bombing campaign that ever worked without first invading every inch of a country was the dropping of atomic bombs on Japan which convinced the Japanese that they risked the existence of the Japanese nation by not immediately surrendering unconditionally. Dropping atomic bombs on Serbia is out of the question. Therefore an invasion of Serbia by NATO and an imposition of a democratic system of government by force of arms is the only solution. The alternative is the situation in Iraq which will result in the present stalemate lasting into perpetuity. The American taxpayer is going to be paying for bigger and bigger cruise missile contracts forever as more and more local monsters are encouraged by the Russians to do this.
