Taken from YAHOO post...Mr Boostra of Philips, the Dutch conglomerate said this morning to a DenHaag newspaper that it was considering acquiring a US internet player "with substantial technical expertise". He then added that companies such as 3COM would be ideal targets. The article is to be published later next week. MY COMMENTS: Wouldn't street be bidding COMS up by now with all this rumor stuff? Problem with all this rumor is, why would there be insider selling in Dec./Jan. (prices around $45.50) when merger/takeover etc. issues are bubbling? Doesn't sound like COMS is interested, unless the seriousness of merger/buyout/alliances has dramatically increased in the past couple months.

Curious if you or anyone on this board knows why COMS decided today not to continue their efforts to turn out storage area network interconnect devices(switches, hubs, and interface cards). Seems like they were really enthusiastic until this:
