Good morning,Gregory:re <SO what if DELL is using the channel. Why not sell as many computers as you can? Compact is a pathetic company from top to bottom. Mark my words 5fer will be fired!

Can't agree more: this move of using the channel is very smart, IMO. I think that, even if the more profitable model is the direct one, and even if this is, and will be, the main distribution system for Dell, this entrance in the channel is a good move BECAUSE IT MEANS TO REACH A MARKET SEGMENT THAT CONTINUES TO PURCHASE COMPUTERS VIA RESELLERS.
BTW, it's a good payback for CPQ, after his fallen attempt to break into the direct selling. The unseemly reaction of CPQ shows how good is this move for Dell.
