But (IMHO) four months ago SUNW's stock price was severely depressed by a mistaken belief, aided by lots of FUD/PR, that Wintel would turn Sun into toast; the stock is now just catching up, as the ludicrous nature of that belief is becoming clear.

JMHO.

95.00 in 3 weeks......is that pre-split or post-split?

This is a long term hold for me.

For a long term investor this is **terrible** advice:

>If you made money, should you dump Answer, probably, if you want to make some fat
> profits and get back in at a cheaper price.

A number of people on this thread, myself included, would have "some fat profits" if we cared to sell. But selling for a long termer to get back in at a cheaper price? Do you have any idea just how much lower the price of SUNW would have to go before long termers would be able to say, "Hey, that was great! Even after paying capital gains taxes, I was able to buy back more shares than I sold!"

Selling shares then buying back the same number, after taxes, is a wash. In order for someone who _wants_ shares of SUNW in his/her portfolio, the person must be able to buy back more shares [after paying all Federal and State taxes] that he/she originally sold. Too much a gamble.

I sure am glad you are not handling my portfolio!

Lynn

Sun is entering into new consumer markets with Java
and Micro SPARC cpu cores. There is great potential in
the expanding digital video market for both of these
products. They already have SPARC cores in encoders,
decoders, and codecs for digital video. Java will
be in every settop box for cable tv. Software and hardware
licenses have pretty good margins don't they?
