You can probably upgrade the RAM, Sue, but doing much else will be all but impossible. If you can afford $1000 (or even a less), I'd strongly recommend checking out one of the new value notebooks instead, since you'll get a fast Pentium machine with much better specs this way (and can keep the old one as a spare.)
