Sam: That post was written by a pea-brained nitwit! As I understand it Checkfree never, never, never pays bills from "its" account, only from yours. That guy is an ignorant, bombastic and dangerously uninformed person. Either that, or I am. (A possibility I am willing to admit -- but believe to be very unlikely. At least the ignorant part.)

Actually I have the same problem with Citibank via Quicken, but the customer support is so lousy at BOTH institutions that I am reluctant to dig into it. It's just easier to live with it than to put up with the long holds, runarounds and unhelpful answers I'm likely to get.

Quicken 99 just yesterday offered another update -- the fourth so far -- to rev. 8. They claimed it fixed some things in the PC banking area, but offered no details. Perhaps they have fixed the four-day lead-time for electronic payments. We'll see.

Regarding the password entered when paying bills, I believe its stored in the Cookies section, probably in code, so each time you enter, it finds your password in the Cookie stored on your computer. That,s how I understand it.

I logged into a portfolio on my daughters computer several states away from home and went back several months later only to log-on and be recognized immediately with my name. How did it know? Cookies is my guess. Be careful where you log-on and use your name and password.
