Just had to say something here, WB...

I have to confess that I still have all my colon... and am not one bit sorry about it <g>. I also have to confess that I have gone through the procedure you so admirably describe of the 'groin to heart' camera procedure... <LOL>.

Mine came about as the result of having big time chest pains at work one day... smart ole me, decided to go home to go to the hospital, a trek of nearly two hours by train and car. Doc was not happy and I spent 3 boring days in the cardiac unit feeling very chipper. In case you're wondering I survived <g>. Afterward, the cardiologist thought this 'procedure' would be a good idea and convinced me I'd be in and out in 6 hours or less. I should have known better <groan>.

The procedure itself was a piece of cake... 20 minutes and all done. It was the after treatment that got me. During the procedure, I'm watching on the monitor and see all the inside stuff... it's pretty cool! They took pictures for me to take home.

What the followup consisted of, was being literally hard clamped to a table for an hour and then having to lie flat with a 10 pound bag of sand on my leg for the next 11 hours with threats of the leg being tied down if I moved it. I managed to avoid the tieing down part. A suggestion... take something to do that can be done lying down flat on your back. <ggg>. There was never any 'hurt' to speak of. After that, it was about 6 weeks for all the 'color' to go away in my leg. And no exercise for a similar period <g>.

You'll survive this. I promise. I can't say though, that you will feel 18 again. I didn't. But if it works for you... go for it <LOL>.

Best of luck and may they find nothing in there to be concerned about!

Chuck
