I think DCLK is a solid, aggressive company and a market leader. If I can stand the volatility I believe I will be rewarded--a little self dialogue that lulls me to sleep at night :)

This is from internet.com--sounds like solid, aggressive work--I like this company more and more.

Ad Network Hopes to Gain Customers with Software Buy-Back Program

By Michael Pastore
March 25, 1999

Internet advertising company DoubleClick is hoping it can lure new customers to its DART product by offering to buy back software-based Internet advertising products.

DoubleClick is targeting potential clients that currently use in-house or software-based products for ad serving. The company will buy computer equipment and offer credits to publishers that switch to DART.

DoubleClick's DART technology allows sites to take advantage of the DoubleClick's targeting capabilities while maintaining their own sales force to sell ads. DART customers have access to online reporting that maps out an advertisement's response rate and effectiveness.

According to DoubleClick's General Manager, Chris Saridakis, the buy-back program is aimed at removing the financial drawbacks normally related to a change in Web advertising products.

"We are seeing a trend towards outsourced ad serving," Saridakis said. "By removing the sunk-costs issue, we feel we can accelerate this trend and continue to move toward making DART the standard."

Saridakis also said DoubleClick has acquired more than 90 of its competitors' clients in the past year.
