I'm extremely worried about the effects of skyrocketing prices of gasoline will have on the economy. Here in the San Francisco area the price of premium unleaded (which I use) has risen from $1.36 to $1.80 or almost 40% in less than 3 weeks! My under $20 fill ups are history!

Sounds like price gouging to me. Premium in the SE is $1.12.up from $1.07. This increase is due to the OPEC meeting and an agreement to cut production. I will be surprise for this to hold because one of the OPEC nations always starts shipping more oil then they are suppose to and the alliance has always broken down, production returns to it's pervious levels and down goes gas prices.
