Frank, I know you have posted a great deal about the last mile, but do you have any thoughts on I suppose could be called the last yard? Specifically, do you have any thoughts on IrDA, Bluetooth, or other wireless connectivity standards/technology for the home or office, and how this might play with ATHM or other broadband carriers? A couple of friends have mentioned this to me, and I am beginning to do some reading.

I wouldn't argue because that's what markets do, explore the the price possibilities. Without exploration the bounds on price would be zero and there could no change. Whenever price acts in a unidirectional and prejudicial way one has to become suspicious. Whenever the net works well for a period one has to be suspicious. On balance it has been working better, but that emboldens the exploiters to engage in all sorts of net destroying nonsense like spam. In the stock market there is rising spam too. As you suggest they are likely to converge.
