Maverick provided BRCM with a logical extension of its Layer 2 Lan chips. It takes them more into Layer 2/3 switching. Immediate comp. comes from LEVL and MMCN. Looks like PMCS' new products will be in comp. as well. This market is ASIC based now and is set to explode if merchant players can provide alternatives - MMCN already provides chips and LEVL is coming out later this year. As the shift to GE and Layer 3 continues, there should be plenty of biz for everyone. Note however, this is not PMCS's core mkt. BD
