The second commercial is good, but not as good as the first, IMHO. Same style as the first, so the shock value wasn't as great. I like the new TDFX logo, and I like the 'attitude' they are trying to convey. Have seen two large print adds- one with the soccer guys where they have a great picture some stupid one liner, and the 'car accident' add. The car accident add was really in poor taste, IMHO, and I really didn't care for it, but I guess it had attitude.

I love the "so powerful, it's kind of crazy" line...

filled up the car today. $1.05 a gallon! Excellent! (I feel a bit like Montgomery Burns :)

I have spent the day (entire weekend actually) putting together my new system and I am experiencing upgrade overload. That IE 5.0 thing is a pain in the arse. However, I took a few minutes to play some theraputic Powerslide and comparing the difference between my old P200 MMX + V2 SLI and my new Celeron 400 + SLI, I feel totally restored.

The difference is amazing. The game used to run well on the old rig but now the extra frame rates make it lots smoother and thereby more immersive. The extra detail is totally noticeable. The V2s made it possible to play most games at OK FPS on the P200 (1st person shooters were sometimes choppy) but the new processor has scaled up the performance wonderfully. Also, I took a real good look at the sunset as I charged along a straight peice of track and there was no banding. To be fair, I've never seen it in 32 bit so I can't say whether it is in fact equal or inferior but this is very good.

Without a decent 3D card I'd have had to upgrade at least 6 months ago. But, as good as SLI is, I'm replacing them & the 2D board with the V3 3K because it will give me 3 PCI slots back.

Well, not really TA but I thought you'd like to know <g>. Just going to load Unreal...
