Well, Susan, I heard on tv that they are talking about sending ground troops overseas. IF that happens, the markets will take this war a little more seriously - and that could be good for oil, bad for airlines. I currently am holding some LUV, but sold AMR.

airline fuel costs: I heard it last week from one of CNBC's guest (didn't get his name) that airlines cost on fuels related to their total costs/maintenances per aircraft is only 10% this day compare to 20 to 30% during the early 90's... He argue that airlines can continue to make profits even if the cost of fuel rises moderately.. something to think about long term.. =)

just me..
eL...

Sue,

Just for clarification, when I post
a watch list, I do not imply that a
short will make its fall in one day.

It may not fall at all (not in play)
or may take time.

It is simply a list to watch and
use appropriately.

But even though I did not play any
of the ones listed below on the short
list going into 3/22 open, there were
profits to be made by those who did.

CAH: Posted at 72 3/8
Intraday low of 66 on 3/25

KROG: Posted at 32
Closed at 24 15/16 on 3/25

APW: Posted at 26
Intraday low of 22 13/16 on 3/23

p.s. none of the above show a gap in
their chart below my original posting,
so entry was possible at or near the
posted price.

I did not track all, some did not go down,
but I like to contribute (long and short)
to make this a better thread.

Back to the sidelines

David

p.s. It seems that U has underperformed
the airline sector, at least over the last
two weeks.
