Most interesting bedtime reading. Is Stockhouse based in Canada? I wonder if a chat board must be sued in the nation of origin or whether it can be sued wherever it is read? I wouldn't expect much of a case in the USA for a chat board being responsible for its content, but in Canada or Timbuktu? When does the risk of posting out weigh the benefits? I guess it depends on how much you have to lose. Defending a suit is not cheap. Perhaps the day will come when only nitwits and judgement proof people will be posting. Some might say it is already here. There are just to many lawyers! Did you see the case last week where a group of students sued their school because they funked their computer class. Seems somebody at the school had said that if you can point and click you could pass the class! Well, they pointed and they clicked, but they didn't pass. Cisco
