Well, Barb, there is a case right now in the courts where bashers on Yahoo are being sued by the affected company. Some time back someone posted the news release on that case to this thread. Yahoo has cooperated with the court to identify the bashers and drag them into court. So, the answer to your question is, at this time, that bashers who libel a company or individuals, and cause damage, can be brought into court to answer for their sins. Since the case is still in the courts, we really don't know how much the bashers will have to pay for their misdeeds. After it is decided, we will have our answer though. I suspect that regardless of the outcome of the case,the bashers will lose big time since they will have to pay not only for the damages, but also for their own defense. It looks like the days of the cowards being able to hide behind a anonymous name and escape liability are coming to a close.
