You're right. They do make for interesting chatter, especially for a shorter!

GN If you'll recall, they did not get their site up and working more than about 3 or 4 days before Christmas.

"BII's sales in the 4th Q"

A b-i-g apology. BII now have a 10 page Bloomberg site (within the last day or so - I wonder if they were listening to the absent minded professor).

Anyway one more for my back - which you seem to be remorselessly flagellating: BII's 4Q ended on Dec 31. I find many retail oriented companies like their 4Q. Nintendo, for instance, grossed $150M with its 'Legend of Zelda' video game whereas Hollywood's best feature - A Bug's Life - grossed $114M. Department stores can usually count on 40 -45% of their annual revenues taking place in the Christmas quarter.

Is it because auctions are quiet around Christmas time?

I value your useful input.

Go North, what about just trading the chart and forget about the fundamentals? The chart showed you this run up was going to happen.

Party hard and long! This won't last forever....later.

>>>>>Professor, What about this? Bid.com's sales in the forth quarter were flat with the third quarter. Why? Hard to find a retailer of consumer products that doesn't generate much more sales 4rd. quarter vs. 3th quarter. Even the bad one's do better.
Did they have the right goods for sale? Did they have the system to manage their inventory? Could their fulfillment process keep up and on track? These type of questions are not going to be very popular but make for interesting chatter.<<<<<<

Gonorth,
Do you know for a fact that EVERY retailer generates more during the holidays or is that just a generalized statement to put down Bid.com?
Maybe you should have put alittle more thought into it. Some retailers don't sell products that are in heavy demand for gifts around the holidays. It depends on the retailer and what they sell.
There are many variables and I'm sure your generalized statement did not cover them. I don't claim to have the answer as you do. As Prof.com stated, perhaps more people are out shopping during the holidays than those who use the internet to shop. IMO, that will change in time.
